I know the places that sell pickups are:

1) Davis
2) Swee Lee
3) Music Plaza

am i missing out anything? I am using Yamaha Pac 112J. Alder body , rosewood neck. Plays country and rock. I really don't know which seymour duncan pickups to use. Currently selling away my U2 books and stuff away to raise money for pickups.

Try the SD Pearly Gates. Very sweet.

haha joe satriani chrome boy.

and how much does it cost?

Saw an ad by someone selling seth lover pickups for $150 each. Is it good?

you can try to go to the seymour duncan site...they do provide sound samples...but you need a pair of discerning ears to tell the diferrence

www.seymourduncan.com

yupz..and if you're looking 4 high output pickups...you can give the SH-11 a try..its the Custom Custom humbucker...i have those on my PAC-112M, and it sounds sweet...yupz...cost 136.50...w/o installation..for those, u gotta ask the pros for costs/install them yourselves.

it really depends on what amps you're using, and of course your guitar too...and what type of music you play too...yupz..

a word of advice..the invader [sh-8] looks cool[brad of linkin park uses those]...but its sound is a lil' muddy. yupz...those are better off on the PRSs or LesPauls...

pearly gates sounds cool too..yeah... but its really a matter of personal choice..hee =)

Does the costs include the pickup? Usually labour for making a straight switch is about $30. In your case, they have to modify one of the S slots to fit the Humbucker. That would probably cost around $100. So if it's labour alone, changing the S/S/H to a H/S/S including rewiring would be around the $150 ball park.

BTW, who did you call that quoted you $400?

No offense but if u planning to switch all 3 pickups with that guitar, for me its better to save up abit more, sell that guitar and get a better guitar... 8)

I think $400 inlcudes the cost of 3 pickups plus installations. Thats more or less the right price to change 3 pickups..

hmm thats what other people told me...but i also bought my yamaha pac 112J for $400. I plan to use this guitar for life.

one guitar for life is possible, and yeah...do stick to it. mine's been around for almost 3 years, and i do get fond of it... but it takes a lot of discipline to care for your guitar, especially if you want it to last a lifetime.

my dad has this '56 Gibson Goldtop...the REAL THING, not the reissue, would u believe it, and he had it from the 60s, and through polishing, reconditioning and pro set ups, the guitar's still in mint condition, rarely played nowadays, and yeah... its really a matter of how much u time and money you are going to invest in your axe.

My gawd....that guitar is gonna worth alot. The vintage-savvy and the antique enthusiasts are gonna go head over heels for that guitar.

You gotta be real proud that your dad owns one true vintage Gibson Les Paul.
