Dimebag is a much better guitarist in doing pitches.

Dimebag's dead RIP...but the good thing about Zakk is that he doesnt use the whammy bar to further the squeal...yet he still got a good squeal...hope u understand :P

You could look at Dimebag's use of the whammy bar as a techique that further expands on harmonics. He doesn't need a whammy to do pinch harmonics but he came up with something different and that's golden.

But if you are into the harmonics thing, Mattias Elkundh is the guy to look out for.

Here's a technique he uses, some other guitar player is doing it.

Here's Mattias in action:

He can use the harmonics to play a full tune.

Something "beyond" mere pinch harmonics. Tapped harmonics.

wat u mean by that? i learnt that u must kinda like "pinch" the string between the pick and ur thumb...which literally means just tapping or slightly tapping the string..but when i do that...i get a dampen sound...damn!

it's not really pinching the string, per se..you just have to kind of brush it with your thumb right after your pick attack. the damping sound is probably from maintaining contact with your thumb for too long. either that, or you don't have enough gain on your guitar. i've always found that it's not that hard to pinch clean though
My friend can pinch harmonics on an acoustic guitar!
