No the guys said like get a good amp. So im just like asking for the model to see if my friends have it. Marshall Mg15CDR.

Ps im just a newb

no point testing a pedal on your friends rig since you will be playing it tru your own amp unless i misunderstood your post

FOr classic rock i recommend Either the Seymour Duncan 59 or Dimarzio P.A.F. Pro or any PAF. For the modern day stuff like blink, a Duncan distorion or invader or dimarzio super distortion would do the trick.

No idea what your friends have.
The Vox amps are generally all not bad. Myself I don't like the Valvetronix series, I prefer the pathfinder and the older solid states.

Line 6 amps are quite ok, especially the higher end ones. Not too sure about the lower end models.

Trace Elliots are all great, but may not be the sound you want.
Reverend, Tech 21, Traynor, Orange, Savage... make almost no crap sounding amp.

Low end Beringers sound quite bad to me.
Low end Marshalls, Fenders and Peaveys are crap.

For the absolute best sounds there are the few classics.
-Roland JC120
-Marshall JCM800
-Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
-Fender Twin Reverb
-Fender Bassman

If you ever get to play any of these be prepared to be amazed.

It's impossible to tell you every good amp there is out there. Maybe you can post all your friends' amps and we can let you know which one we think is the best.

EDIT: Those above are a few of the classics. There are a lot more, like ciel below says, the AC30 and the Marshall Bluesbreaker etc etc.. Also, I know ciel is a tube lover, but still. Not all tubes sound good, and not all solid states sound bad. But generally speaking, tube amps are the ones that sound better.

if its tube, its usually much better than most SS. Generally speakin.

ark you forgot the Vox AC30. Fave amp~~~
