Ibanez guitars are always associated with Dimarzio as their high end models usually sport IBZ/Dimarzio or real Dimarzio pickups. naturally people will think: " I should upgrade my stock pickups to Dimarzios cos they are fitted into Ibanez's top of the line models "
if you dont like the sound coming from your Dimarzio equipped Ibanez, there is a high chance that its not the wood that is crap cos I personally believe that Ibanez uses good wood to make their guitars. pretty consistant quality for all the Ibanez guitars that I've tried to date. try swapping to SDs to decide whether is it really the crappy wood's fault or the pickup fault. just a suggestion yup
