Personal Guitar Project :D

Screw

New member
Hey Im 14 and Im currently doing a project on giving an old guitar a huge make over.

I bought a samick guitar at Cash Converter in Jurong East and shopped around at SV (In Peninsula) to get a Floyd Rose tremelo system and some tuning machine head. What happened was the screw broke from the old locking nut and the new locking nut's screw is slightly off. And the tuning machine's screw is also a bit off. I was told it was the right size :/. I want to ask how much it would cost if I were to sent it to a shop

Here's some pictures.

I hope I get some advice or something useful (:

In advance, thanks.

True. But I don't have power tools nor experience etc you see. Oh I and there's also some problems with the knobs. Super loose. And I can't get it off hah.

Why are you asking us about the costs when you should be asking the shop yourself?

I copied and paste from a post from SV's Forum. Was lazy to retype sorry. Actually need advice on what I should do and stuff.

Like if super glue-ing the lock nut. Will that work ? Or will there be side effects.

TS, diy a guitar is no simple task... i had tried before, spent $1800 on materials and a month's time to set it up (a custom neck from warmoth, a squier tele body and brand new tuning machines, bill lawrence pickups) and finally gave up the whole project and sold the FINISHED product to someone else who are not so anal like me about getting a low action like on a custom shop esp guitar.

Read up more on guitar repairs. get as much reference as you can with the powers of google. Of course with regards to spare parts there are no other alternatives but to go the guitar shops.

One thing is for sure, good parts don't come cheap.
