Pedals Pedals Pedals!

Hello there! I've been thinking of getting a digital delay pedal, and i was wondering what would be a good one. I'm on a tight budget, of under 200 dollars. Any suggestions?

Also, i was thinking of getting an OCD Fulltone. What are your takes on it?

Nigel is that you? Correction, it's a Fulltone OCD, it's more of an overdrive pedal that that can do almost hi gain stuff. You have to try it out to see whether you like it or not. But if you want versatility in a pedal, i really suggest you get the Wampler Ecstasy Drive. Can get from nice low gain OD, for chords etc all the way to mid gain stuff almost near hi gain. Ordering a clone from a fellow softie, tongski_02 for only 137! as compared to 310 new.

As for a delay, check out the Line 6 Echopark: http://line6.com/tonecore/echoPark.html

or Digitech Hardwire Delay/Looper: http://www.hardwirepedals.com/dl8-delay-looper-overview.php

EHX Memory Boy or if you're willing to top up a little more EHX Memory Man with Tap Tempo. Many more!

200 dollars is generous really, don't be fooled by the boutique market. Obvious choices are the Boss DD-3 and Line 6 Echo Park. Both are staples but have their own limitations.

The Digitech Hardwire DL8 is slightly less common but much better IMO. If you want analog you can try the EHX Memory Toy.

And if you want something more interesting I'd recommend a Korg ToneWorks 301dl if you could find one. I've scored two here and they are my favourite delays, cheap and digital but great sounding and with some crazy features.

OCD's are yesterday's hype. Decent but they're pretty much forgotten by all the tone freak cork-sniffers by now. As always the default advice is try before you buy because everyone's taste is different.

For $200 you've got quite a few choices. I'd go for the subdecay echo box but if you want versatility then the hardwire DL-8 and echopark would be better choices like above-mentioned.

Echopark and the dd-6 yea, great delay pedals. I'm currently using a Marshall Echohead, love it to bits. Got it from davis, think it was about $160, good value. Check that out too. Cut back on the delay time, add about 1/4 feedback, and doubles up as a chorus pedal for me as well, in a very Nickelbackish cheesy American Jock Rock way.
