Get a Keeley DS-1 Ultra. It's only about $220 plus shipping. I ordered one and it's coming soon :D

Or, you can wait for it to arrive then I'll go record some clips of it then you decide :D

Ya, the Keeley DS-1 ultra mode is really nice. All my other pedals are going into the closet.

Personally, I find pedal based compressor not that good.
I prefer to use a rack based compressor with the proper Threshold, Attack,Ratio, Release, output controls.

Those pedal based compressors just don't give the exact precise controls I want.
It just makes the sound thicker or substains longer. Not enough for me.
I mean, pros can control up to the milisecond they want.

haha. i still dunno. i guess i must go try out pedals. haha. yeah chanmin. i was already thinking of changing pickups to duncan distortions. but tt will be later when i get more cash. den maybe can install earvana nut too. haha. seems no guitar is perfect if ure too fussy. im too fussy. :D :D

many ppl are saying the gt-2 and hotbritish is good..though i ask before which 1 is better..but still didnt really get it ~_~ anyone here uses these 2 pedals before? care to tell us ur exp from these 2? hee

Hotbritish is modelled on the marshall sound, you can get satriani and the big 80s metal sound out of it. JP's lead tone is a very signature smooth boogie mark series lead so the Hotbritish will be a little different from that. If you're looking for his lead tone i would think that Gt-2 would come closer, as its different modes are modelled after both the marshall type and boogie type sound. Hotbritish gives you a waaaay better marshall tone than the GT2 though. It's very responsive to your playing dynamics and does a very convincing 'tube' distortion as it is marketed to do.

can a GT2 give overdrives instead of those heavy distortion?

if u're looking for TS9 type rhythm overdrive.. don't think so. if u're thinking SRV lead tones... imo that's quite near distortion territory... so yes, but don't expect the same tones. (think more heavy, Cream, ACDC, ledzep, GnR, depending whether u got the old or the new version of GT2.)

hi gain overdrive yes. but not low gain overdrive. but de distortion is damn gd. esp de california mode. tho u would need a compression pedal to go with it cos de lead sound is kinda broken up n not as smooth as wat is usually expected. kinda ex too. :(
