Pedal and Amp Question

I Been playing Guitar For a Year Already
Still not so sure about somethings.

Question
If i have a pedal.And i use a amp.
The effect will take over the sound of the amp?
Meaning the amp is just a speaker for the effect to run?
Or the amp will affect the sound of the pedal.

I love Dry Thick Distortion Sound
But the TS-7 Don't seem to give me that..

the TS-7 is one of the mildest overdrive pedal there is, you're using the wrong tool for your intention. the 'scream' in Tubescreamer doesn't equal 'very intense'.

imo stock mt-2 sounds thin and dry.

since ur interested in thick dry distortion and hav given only 3 options, the ds-1 tops ur criteria in stock condition

mt-2 jus has tht thin nasal sound to it on almost any setting. great eq though
however if modded,it becomes totally different than stock. very open sounding and very dynamic tone coupled wif a great eq makes it a very versatile high gain pedal.

The effect's sound will be affected by the amp's tonal characteristic. But the pedal should retain the core of its sound.

Regarding the TS7 review, you will spend less time reading the reviews from Harmony Central. I'd be wary of reviews from reviewer who don't have enough experience with effects pedals though.

If you are looking at the Boss pedals as mentioned above, I think it will be to your benefit for you to check out the boutique offerings. 4 years ago, I would not have suggested this but nowadays many "boutiques" offerings are very affordable and tend to sound better since they are supposedly takes on classic designs. I'm sure fellow softies can point you in the right direction.

Have always been a multi fx guy but Ive played on an MIT DS-1 and would definitely not recommend it if you want a thick distortion... Probably something to boost it would help.

As for now, you can try using your TS-7 with your amps overdrive ? Might help to add more gain to the tone...
