Pearl Export

Hello. Im a beginner at drums and wanted to get a kit. so, i went to swee lee today to take a look. i saw a pearl export. the model was EX805 I THINK.
The bass drum looks kinda small. the sales person told me it was 18" but i thought that standard should be 22"? is there 22" diameter export? cause 18" is really small. Thanks.

I own an EX805. The bass drum is a 20". 18" BDs are usually special orders, I think. So the salesperson was bullshitting you.

Exports do come in 22". Those are the EX825s. Not sure if Swee Lee still has them in the warehouse. You might want to call the warehouse straight and enquire.

Do note that Exports are no longer in production. The Vision line has taken over the Export line. The new Forums are pretty similar to Exports, except for the inclusion of stock cymbals, a throne, drumsticks and the steel hoops on the drums.

Check out the Forums, they come in 22"s.

the hipgig has a 16" bass drum and when tuned properly, sounds solid as f. hahaha. the export's a good set to start out with la. not that expensive, quite solid.

yea. im heading to the warehouse this sat. i really hope that they still have the standard kit. EX825. been eyeing those exports since last year then discontinued wtf.

If they dont have the EX825, do consider the Forum FZs if you're absolutely going the Pearl way. If not, there are many other good kits out there at that similar price range.

Haha. Damn. Depends on your luck lah.

You can get your reply within a day at best, or worse, you'll never hear from them, as I've experienced before.

If you want an answer quick, call them straight at the warehouse. Don't bother calling them at the outlets itself 'cos they'll have to check back to the warehouse anyway.
