Parker P-Series

What are the opinions on the Parker P-Series? I saw some pics up on Guitar77 and they look quite interesting, especially the P-34 "Farker Pelecaster" and PM20Pro. Anybody played one yet, and what price point are we talking about?

I'm not in Singapore. I'm working in Perth and only return next month. Don't know if I should pick up an instrument in Perth or wait till I come back, see.

The P Series didn't feel too good IMO. The feel was just not there for me. Might be the fit or finish or what, but I didn;t like what I was holding. The mojo didn't turn on for me. That was for the trem equipped ones. The set neck fixed bridge one felt better but the tone was lacking, prob due to set up anyway.

Would rather wait for the hi end parkers to come in, those MIA ones.

Thanks! I tried the Fly Deluxe Honduras Mahogany when it first came out and everyone was raving about it. 2 friends bought one each and I borrowed them a fair bit for the dual-sound settings. Could never get used to the feel of the guitar and the top horn kept on poking into my ribs (skinny). Somehow it felt like I was playing an aluminium girder, but at the time that concept was most novel.

the singlecut Hornets PM10 i tried (& in the process of reviewing) are quite a performer. the default pickups are depriving the guitar of a strong voicing both clean & driven. all in all, i feel that this offering is an under-achiever. might be magical after a pickup swap maybe?

that was the fixed bridge parker I tried. I thought it was the pups too. Would love to read your review on the feel, fit and finish.

those fixed bridge units are rather bland. IMO the singlecut fared better.

The singlecut models look really nice, but I'm not very comfortable with humbuckers. Maybe swopping out for humbucker-sized P90s would yield a snappier bark? Still, maybe I'll wait till I come home then go try.

Hmm, the PFs have never grown on me. I've tried several in the past, all of them lightweight and totally zilch on body and feel.

Although I must say they're easy to play...with such stock string action so low you could grind off the entire fretboard in a month...lol

Tell us how it goes. I've only ever played the standard Dog-Ear and Soapbar cased ones. I tried humcancelling P90s before (I think they're called P100?) but they didn't seem to have the same honk as the P90s.

I got to try a friend's Les Paul with the RioGrande Bastard pickups and it really blew me away.

the p100s dun sound anything like p90s at all. I have on my LP a pair of Gibson p94s. bit more bite but still fat as hell, not what i expected, not p90 enough for me. Rio Grandes should sound better i tink.

I liked the stainless steel frets on some of the parkers... you can vibrato on the steel strings for AGES and there's no wear!
