hi I'm a huge x japan fan
I would like to replicate one of hide's lesser known paint works
I'm ordering the mockingbird soon buy would like to know if I should order it in gloss black or the bare finish
is it better to paint from scratch or to add on to the gloss black finish?
I would also like to know what mediums you guys would suggest for my ambitious project(hide's guitars are really elaborately designed )
thanks a lot and I hope u guys would give me advice

chermin (:
doing this cos I sold my hide model
greatest regret in my life

well. must rmb that u dropped that baby before.
me thinks gloss body cos the painting ain't glosy and only the body's glossy.
think its more practical to pain on a glossy body then on a bare body and then gloss the non-paint parts.

I guess the safest way is to send it to Gr3y, Guitar Workshop or Blewraincoat if you need custom made graphic....Because unless you are really2 talented and experienced, you'll end up with a messed up guitar that you can't even sell for 100 bucks...

I've tried doing my own custom graphics on my 60th anni strat...Created some psychedelic pattern on it(I was a media art student and worked as a designer/art director before so I guess my drawing skill is not that bad)....After finished, I feel like "wow awesome" but after a few days....I'm really getting sick of it and spent 1 whole day just to clean up all the drawings....luckily I only used a permanent board marker+graphic pen that time

I dunno bro...Maybe it's just me....I've been through a lot of guitars so far and I find out that the fancier the guitar is the faster you get bored of it....That's why I keeps going back to 2 standard shapes which are les pauls and strats....

Maybe it's just me...Sorry bro not to discourage you or offend your skill in any way...Just sharing my experience....:D

me already helped u as much as i can. best is to ask the pros, and pros no like spoon feeding. but, i'm always here to help you bro. lol
