Honestly, I'd love to see what some of the younger forum peeps will select. I dunno. There seems to be quite a huge chunk of the songs from the 90's. Then again, the 80's had that 2 years. It'd be great to see more tunes from 00 - 08.

My sentiment exactly, coz my ears are so tuned to those early 90s stuff, i'd love to hear what the newer stuff are like. Apart from a very small collection of CDs, i really don't have much of a clue...

Someone mentioned Godflesh/Broadrick being Rocket Scientist's sound, I think you meant the band Drill instead? Drill was a twosome with drum machines.

Definitely Rocket Scientist... they're slower, moodier and darker... just like Broadrick's. I remember at a gig at WTC, the singer have his mic plugged into a Boss DD3 for that delayed sounds! Hehehehhhe... Drill with the spiky hair and loudhailer i think... They're definitely faster... No, not them... : )

Ahhh... i have some good 2000 and beyond CDs here... maybe for volume 3 ahhh...

- Throb (best tasty funk!)
- Chou Pi Jiang
- Fishtank
- Cesspit
- Bushmen
- Blyss
- My Precious
- Urban Karma
- Plain Sunset
- Akigoshi
- Azra-El
- Opposition Party (the newish E.P.)
- Objection Overule

Ohhh, and we must put in our very own local Prodigy: the mighty Quadmix!

Never caught Drill live before. Sounded quite intense from the recordings.

Hey, would you be okay to pass us the Stellarium track? :)

Stellarium - Kill You is not a track, it's meant to be a finale noisefest set up to end our every setlist in every gig regardless of the song we play.

We have a habit of juggling our setlist in a way we deem fit.

However, I can pass you Paddle Pop or Any Day Is Fine, if it's ok.

:)

prior to anything,

have u all asked permission from these bands to use their songs?

and if u all did, where do the sale of these cd's go to?

This is sort of a bootleg mixtape, unless i'm mistaken. I sincerely hope they don't turn up for sale at a pasar malam (although that'd actually be cool)

Some acts which I've contacted are cool with it.

There's no physical CD. If there were, we would be looking for even higher res formats of the tracks. And some of the tracks don't even belong to the artists. As in they lie with Pony Canyon, etc. -_-"

It's more of an archival/ ka ki cho, ka ki song (ownself do, ownself happy) kinda compilation and shared among friends. It's totally cool if you are uncomfortable with this arrangement and wish to opt out. Lemme know! :)

lets SPREAD THE LOVE hehehe.......i wldve happily offered my own band's track too heheh but one must be realistic and objective heheh

Steady swee swee!!!

Who will notify us old fogeys on the download links??? Can't wait!!!

Next question: Anyone of you actually transferred those old cassette demo tapes back in the 90s to mp3 format? I'm looking for demos of STILL in mp3.

To bro RottenRamone: Thanks for the Oddfellows and Force Vomit stuff! Greatness!!!

yep when the links are ready, its time for a brand new power thread to spread the wonderful truth abt Spore's great underground music scene!!!! someone lock lock lock this one up pls hahaha

heh me too, I got a small collection of new CDs releases but only like a few and most of the ones that I like are from the old timers with new bands.

My ears are just not trendy enough to be in tuned with the times.

STILL on myspace ; Rocket Sci; Etc; etc

I think you can download STILL tracks for yourself here: http://www.myspace.com/stillrest
Latest from Greg - the guitarist - was the second album by his ANTIQUES last year: http://www.myspace.com/antiques

ROCKET SCIENTIST - yes they would remind one of Godflesh back in the day. More recent work would appeal to Lennon/Beatles/Flaming Lips/Radiohead fans - and 'HISS' -the last album they did- was utterly all its own. Album of the year 2007 I think. New album in works. There's a mass of new songs for it.
Adrian from Rocket Scientist has a new goodtime band called We GANG too:
http://www.myspace.com/wegangband
AND he's playing at Esplanade soon.

Latest from Etc is this Wednesday at Esplanade:

I think all the sets will be different. Maybe TRANS*END could feature. It's been in rotation in the studios w/ Etc recently.

Edgar's fault

oh yeah, EDGAR'S FAULT frontman Jared has been invited back to Singapore for a stint at Crazy Elephant - where, of course, his old bandmates/kakis can be seen - including the wonderful John Chee. (Next time you're stressed about not being able to afford that pedal you want - go and see John play ... and be reminded that most electric guitars have tone and volume controls and different pick-ups, and they - with a good player - might be all you need sometimes. Tell that to the Pagans. I used to love doing so. Hahah)

Jared hasn't confirmed anything yet. If he's here what a great op for a semi-reunion of his other pre-EDGAR's band: Problem Child and A.S.K (Anti Social Khaos). Some of their songs made their way into Edgar's set, but not as Motorhead-ed. These didn't include 'My Dog Spot'.
