as the music scene grow, more people are organizing "pay-to-play" gigs, which is a gig where by bands that perform, have to sell a certain number of tickets.
organizers of "pay-to-play" gigs have often been thought of as money minded people who try to earn money from bands that need recognition.
i for one, am an advocator of such gigs and i feel that organizers have been misunderstood.
therefore this thread is for you, the organizers, to step out, and let people know
1) roughly how much it cost to host a gig
2) how does the ticket prices/number of tickets need to be sold come about
3) a rough breakdown of where the money goes.
hopefully, this can help clear any prejudices we as musicians might have on them
note: this is not a thread to share your views on weather p2p gigs are good/effective/whatsoever. if you would like to do so, please visit
