I call this the poor man's Sadowsky/Avella Coppolo. Nails that 70's vibe, and does the Marcus Miller thing very well. This might be one of the most underrated basses out there, it's one fantastic killer sounding bass. The slap tone is to die for and the fingerstyle tone is great. I know many people have changed out the electronics on these basses, of course you get a $4-5k sounding and playing bass with the upgrades. I have a rare Ken Smith BT preamp (Those that were on the USA made BT series back in the days) that I planned to replace the current pre with but I happen to like the stock offering pretty much, so it's still lying in my parts drawer! The bass is a little heavy, as with most Fender 70s but it's never been a problem for me, and certainly not a deal breaker. This bass plays extremely smoothly and quick with dead low action and no buzzes.
Drool time..
