It is 3k. The previous owner brought in the states and he sells it to guitar gallery cause he needa pay off his debts.

I juz realize recently that the guitars we get are usually rejects by the US and UK counterparts not that they are bad...but generally I doubt it if you can get such a nice top in Sg.

True. But there is really beautiful plain tops in S'pore. S'pore seldom has beautiful flame tops.

I think the URL is lacking something.. :?

mmm hmmm... haha. why don't you send the picture(s) to softguy then he can upload them here, it's more convenient to view it too. :D

I wonder how much the initial owner bought it for… a used LP for $3K is kinda dishonest… unless it’s a collector’s item- is it?

I was thinking a bit ex too...maybe the pricing is slightly different in 2001?
But than again from the pic...looks like a NOS....seems to be in really good condition......could be different though if seen up close though....

Ya... it is a bit expensive. But it is much more cheaper buying a les paul standard at $4800. The condition when i 1st bought is really good, the finish still have its shine, no cracks. The only thing is the bridge and tailpiece. They are really dusty, the fret are abit dirty so i reconditioned everything. To me it is really a good deal; better than paying almost $2000 more for a plain top.

Different top...different prices...recall cing people selling for example a LP Standard, one w/a nicer Flame Top for more money than a not so nice Flame Top...wonder if this is supposed to be like that? Does Gibson charge different prices to the retailers for different quality in the top? I've no idea.

Yes. i think so. Cause quilt top is more expensive than a flame top. So i guess a flame is more expensive than a plain top. But now plain tops is a rare sight. Gibson no longer put plain top in their guitar.

Hey BF, I like your epi LP, maybe I’m a solid colour person, I can’t appreciate flame tops/ quilts. These are merely cosmetics, maybe that’s the reason I chose a gold top McCarty…

Personally, I prefer my LPs to be either black or white. That's why most of my previous and present guitars are mostly black with two exceptions (cost reasons). Somehow I never like the flame top, quilted top or cherry burst (too red) types. But right now I'm contemplating getting a honey burst or vintage burst or even wine red LP standard just for a bit of variety.

IMO the sunburst finish has a subliminal ‘buy me’ influence on everyone. My tele is a sunburst & I won’t settle for anything else, the pic will be up soon, it’s getting a little make-over… 8)

Get a tabacco burst. Guitar 77 seem to be the only one selling it. Tabacco burst look more vintage.

If i got more cash to spare, the goldtop would definitely be mine.:)

I kinda like the Wine Red Custom or the White color one....defintely different from the usual....Sunburst...or Black Beauty

Wow, lots of people seem to be really into some very traditional designs around here. Sorry if my additions go against the flow here. Also have to say sorry about the quality. (click for pictures)
