other genres?

yea i noticed that most people here are either purist metalheads or hardcore kids. im probably wrong, so i was just wondering, apart from hardcore and metal, what genres/bands do you guys like?

personally, apart from hardcore and (some) metal stuff, i'm into the horrors, the strokes, that kind of thing. caracal, monofone, gse. anyone else?
 
arent there like lots of blues player around? not to mention all the Cpop Jpop people. Metalheads like me are a rarity i think. Most "metalheads" here listens to A7x, dragonforce all those powermetal. no offence to any1, i come in peace.
 
Classical music anyone? my favourites are Liszt, Brahms, Mozart then Schubert. Also, to YSR, people here have quite good music taste ok! not just A7X and those stuff. However i do not see much Mathcore people around.. anyone here?

i argree with u man , wad happen to testament fans ? kreator fans , anthrax fans , venom fans , pantera and all the awesome bands !

btw yea blues is the root to metal and rock .
 
Ahem, meshuggah fan rite here. and dun say mathcore man, that just sounds nerdy. say Progressive Death Metal, ahh sounds nicer lidat mah.
 
I'm not really a death growl person, Dream Theater! Pre Black Album metallica. Well, now their just a bunch of aging sellouts.
 
well,i don't see any Industrial Musicians around

you know it's a shame for people who dosen't know the roots about music....so yeah...learn and learn
 
Hmm...nice topic there. Well I agree with all of you yet I also disagree with all of you. Aside from some genres which I will never touch with a 100ft pole, I stand on neutral ground about the rest. As YSR did mentioned that powermetal was crap and uses Dragonforce as an example.

I still believe that there are a lot of superb powermetal bands which Dragonforce will be not one with.

I listen to a variety of metal and I don't just follow wat the masses say. Some might say that Nu-Metal is crap. Or Industrial is gay or whatever. But There are some bands from these other genres that I do find them nice to listen to.

In other words, music is universal. There will be songs that you like to listen to even from the genres you are putting down.

I also believe that there are no such thing as a purist in any genre. No matter how Metal or Rock or Industrial or Hardcore or Punk or Blues or Jazz (U get the idea), there will be songs from other genres that you will like to listen to although all of you might disagree with the fact.

Dragonforce is a really bad example of Power Metal. Anyone who thinks Dragonforce speaks for all Power Metal bands pretty much lives inside a cage.
 
whoa, gettin all excited there. Anyways u guys would probably not see much of my "fun" posts anymore. cuz i got a warning from soft. Im gonna stick to the boring crap from now on. Cheers. I was kidding bout dragonforce. they rock my socks and i love herman li!!
