Orianthi - Believe

If you dig deeper, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Nashville folks has brought guitar blazin' into the mainstream. Well, mainstream America so far mostly.

I would say Joe Bonamassa has been trying his darnest to get blues and guitar into the kids. He tours schools and plays blues and tells the story of the blues whether the kids are interested or not. And he's a kick butt player.

I think they are bringing many kids out to begging their pa for a guitar for Christmas. Maybe in 10 years we'll be seeing more Eric Johnson, Brent Mason types coming out. So guitar music, not just radio music with guitars, may be on an increase again. Not that it ever faded away since Santana in the turn of the century.

Anyone remembers the Darkness?

I'm impressed by Sol Philcox. I wish I was that kid.

actually i would consider her to be really great already. She can play blues with feel. But definitely she is not in the same league as the top virtuosos right now. But she will be in the future.

really? i haven't heard her blues stuff? any links?

no doubt she'll be one of the highly regarded guitarists in the future, though.

another Jennifer batten in the making? she look promising, can sing very well compare to Jennifer & Arvil. Any video of her playing juz guitar tracks alone? Jennifer Batten use to be Michael Jackson's guitarist and went on to play with Jeff beck... Personally i feel Orianthi can go further then Jennifer Batten because she is good at singing well at least better then Arvil i feel... do not be mistaken that Orianthi and Arvil belongs to the same gerne, i feel Orianthi is way much better maybe its just me but i feel Arvil's musical style are more of a rebellous 'I'm a girl/woman so hear me out or move on...' kind of altitude.

Yes it's just me but i don't like band singing just to make a statment of gender issue or protraying an egolistic idea. To me, that's is petty and shallow.

Orianthi is going to be on my playlist for sure. As for Arvil... well i have enough of your pesonal statment kind of song and pop candy rock music:) but still she is great.

carlos santana talking about her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwgnfUYFxuM&feature=related

another chick to watch out. she played with steve vai at 14. she plays damn well. now 16.
yasmin hofer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYxoq5hO4Aw&feature=related

her bluesy stuff isn't bad. but she definitely can't stand up to the greats in this arena.

in the santana video at 0:56, that performance sounded good. i guess she can sing after all. i take back my words.

yasmin hofer sounds pretty good too. power to female guitarists! i'm not female neither am i a guitarist. but power nonetheless.

i don't know....i don't understand much of the fuss about her.

Her guitar-playing is nothing amazing. She keeps time, and plays good rhythm, no doubt.
But i was hoping to see her pull off the Beat It solo, but alas, she disappoints.

It sounds disjointed and lacks fluency n polish. (i bet the guy in the vid hasn't heard the original by EVH - It might melt his mind)

Jennifer Batten's playing is so much better IMO.

And her original songs to me sound rather typical of the Avril genre.

i think it's too much to ask of her to be the one to kickstart a new era in popular music.
If anything, she is a whiff of fresh air, but nothing will change.

All just my personal views...don't take offence.

Should watch her in This Is It. She was good. Her solo in Beat It was good too. But it's Eddie she was trying to replicate there. Now... That's a little hard.

She's awesome, hot. Holy shit.
