If you dig deeper, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Nashville folks has brought guitar blazin' into the mainstream. Well, mainstream America so far mostly.
I would say Joe Bonamassa has been trying his darnest to get blues and guitar into the kids. He tours schools and plays blues and tells the story of the blues whether the kids are interested or not. And he's a kick butt player.
I think they are bringing many kids out to begging their pa for a guitar for Christmas. Maybe in 10 years we'll be seeing more Eric Johnson, Brent Mason types coming out. So guitar music, not just radio music with guitars, may be on an increase again. Not that it ever faded away since Santana in the turn of the century.
Anyone remembers the Darkness?
I'm impressed by Sol Philcox. I wish I was that kid.
