Orange Crush 15R

I need help for my Crush 15R!
The sound is good when clean, but when distortion is turned on, it sounds bad!
No matter how I set my EQ, it just won't work out well. So I'm looking if anyone have the same amp as me and is willing to share his EQ settings.
Also, when I turn the "Level" and "Volume" Gain controls up past 9 or so, I get high pitched squealing noise. The high pitched squeal can be prevented by turning down my guitar tone knob all the way down or turning down the "High" knob on my EQ, but at the expense of the tone. Does anyone have the same problem like mine?
I brought the amp for servicing but still couldn't get rid of the irritating high pitched squeal.

its normal if you go high gain and get squeels. It may be your pickup grounding isnt so good or its just a characteristic of a unpotted pup.

Might not be anything wrong with your amp

i suggest you used a overdrive/distortion pedal and tweak the eq to get the tone you want.
the cleans are nice but the onboard drive is bad to me..

I'm quite sure that the problem actually lies with my amp as I tried my own guitar and cable on my friend's amp (Fender) and it works fine.
I tried searching for help from Orange forum and I found out that a guy actually had the same problem I has.

Yea, I think I should just get a pedal too. Yamaha service centre is too inaccessible for me. I've been there once but they still didn't fix the problem.
I'm considering if I should get the Zoom G2.1u, anyone have any experience with that?

no experience with the zoom, but a multi efx is always a good start with all the efx it has..

I think it's the amp's circuit flaw. Sounds like your amp's circuit went into oscillation at very high gain.

Common issue in circuits with unstable gain stages or very sensitive opamps.

If you are confident with a soldering iron and reading schematics, maybe you can google solutions for curing oscillation in gain circuits.

Just my 5 cents.

-btw, does this symptom happen also when you plug in headphones?

you can try bringing it to mike in standard value or pm mikemann on soft. to diagnose the problem and fix it for you, im not sure how much it is tho.
they are two different persons btw hahaha.

i had the zoom before. lasted me a good 3 years before i moved on to single pedals. and yea its a great multi fx.
