Open vs Closed Back Cabinets

closed for tighter, more focused bass projection.

For clean, semi dirty or short distances between myself and an amp, I'd prefer a open back 2x10.

2x12 closed back for higher gain situations.

Honestly, I wish manufacturers offered more 2x10 open-back cabinet options as they'd suit the bedroom environment so well.

i do not really know the difference between open and closed back. however, over the time i played guitar i've come to realise that both of them can sound really good, open backs such as crate GLX amps sound great, and yet closed like the marshall microstack sounds awesome too. so I don't really know the difference... heh

Im in favour of closed backs... or semi closed at least. The hold Bass better... and when u hit a power chord... the bass notes seem more defined.... well ..to me la...


by the way... You guys got any speaker cables to recomend? i been thinking of getting christmas presents for my two amps... seeing how well they've served me and all..
