one string buzz

Hello bassists. I've just gotten a bass and the A string buzz a bit when its open.
But on 12 fret ( A string ) it buzz and fade away.
What can i do? it doesn't happen to other strings though...
pls help thx

Go take the bass to be set up since you just got it. Could be anything from the nut being cut too much, to needing to raise the action, or a combination of problems. Best to get a professional to look at it. I've heard good things about Maestro at Peninsular.

depending on where you go to have it setup, about $40 to $50. i'd recommend Beez, there was a thread asking about his homepage recently.

Try raising the action for that string at the bridge. That should solve the problem

Go to beez , heard u can check-up ur guitar there for free ..
But set-up must pay of course .
