Hey all,

As some might know, i write CCM songs (contemporary christian music) and here's another one i churned out. I hope you'll give it a listen and let me have some feedback on mix, arrangements, vocals, lyrics etc.

I recorded this with an SM57 stuck off axis, with my tokai and amp. a behringer b1 for vocals. thash about it. mixed entirely on me headphones.

thanks for listening!

Likes:
- Great rock intro. Simple but effective
- the way u did ur vocals. How many layers are there actually?
- the drums sounds. Self played or software?

Dislikes:
- the tremolo effect during the verse. Alittle bit too messy and confusing for my taste. Left and right left and right...
- Probably can do more arrangement, cos it's kinda standard. Then again, we're talking abt simple effective rock.

Overall great effort. Care to share some mixing techniques?

hi chang, thanks for the listen and the constructive feedback man. appreciate it!
i hear u on the trem fx. thanks again.

drums are loops from betamonkeymusic.com. great stuff and cheap too. heh. the main vocals are doubled and so are the harmonies. so, all in, 4 layers. with a healthy dose of eq'ing and verb. :)

as for the rest of the instruments, guitars are layered 4 times too. panned left and right at about 60% and 100%. +3 at 4khz normally to give it a little bite. i use alot of presets...kekek.

cheers!

really great stuff man! Must say im a fan of your songs... this one and another one from long ago... the one with the kick ass solo!

though i have to agree the tremolo effect is kinda mucking things up.
but the tune is really catchy and overall kinda addictive... keep em coming man!

heya chan min! thanks for the encouragement dude! much appreciated. am thinking of redoing the one from long ago ("Broken") as well.

okie dokes, seems like the trem effect too much. will remove some of it and repost. thanks again!

nice overall production! im amazed how real the drums sound. i like this. keep it up!
watch the tuning a bit on the vocals tho, especially the choruses..

good job overall!

hi andrew, thanks for the listen! ah yes, the chorus was too high for me actually, straining my vocals for it. eeeks. heh.
thanks dude. maybe time for some auto tune...keke.

dude, great stuff!

you did this at home?

whoosh! i like it.

the driving rhythm at the verse is really nice! do post up more of your works ok?

Cheerios,
Benjamin
