Octave pedal?

there are those which just shift ur pitch one octave higher. examples are ehx pog, digitech whammy, boss pitchshifter.
then there are octave fuzzes, think of purple haze by jimi hendrix. examples are roger mayer octavia, mi audio pollyanna, fulltone octafuzz.
Plenty of octave pedals can do that.
2 schools, dudelove has mentioned, are the analog octavers (usually fuzzes) and digital octave effects.
It would be good to research on the differences.
I recall a SOFTie who was trying a Foxrox Octron (analog octave) and commenting that it wouldn't stay clean... so he didn't get it, because he didn't get it. Sad case of uninformed decision making.
