Hi guys,

Any recommendations for a decent fretless bass for a price ranging from 500-700 SGD?

The truth is I've been playing the double bass(sometimes with pickup) for years and I'm a total noob to electric bass. Grateful if anyone could advise. Thanks in advance.

there are two fretlees stingrays at sinamex. quite out of your quoted price range, but still worth a trip down to check out. If only i had the cash ..... sigh ..

sinamex is at parklane shoping mall, at the basement level. the stingrays are listed at 2.9k to 3+k though, but the fretless ones really feels very nice.

sweelee is a hit and miss. don't know if they have the squire vintage modified fretless basses (jaco lookalike) though, cos that one has been getting very good reviews and should probbaly be within your price range.

haha ouch that pricing is definitely outta my budget
i think im planning to go down to swee lee tmr to take a look tho :)

icic thanks alot
not sure if my budget can get me something decent tho, i tot a fretless bass would be closer to what im used to

There's a lot more on that forum... practically days and days of eye candy ..... unfortunately a lot of which is not available in singapore. =)

nope.... referring to basses like foderas, skjolds, sadowsky, ritter, lakland, amps like bergantino, accugroove, epifani, demeter, etc which are very common there, but almost impossible to try out in any shop here in singapore.

hi guys

I've been to peninsula plaza basement, music plaza@PS, bras basah, paradiz and peace center, but i only saw one shop(forgot its name but it was beside maestro guitar) with fretless necks for sale.

Looks like i cant find a fretless bass within my pitiful budget. Went to city music and saw a sale going on :)

Yupps, its hard to find a good one in the shops here. I happened to chance on mine after a long time of shopping around.
