Noise Singapore Workshop: Move to the Rhythm

A veteran guitar player in Singapore for over a decade, join Joseph Roberts as he shares his experience and techniques on one of the most overlooked aspects of guitar playing – rhythm guitar. Aspiring rhythm guitarists will learn how to hold their own in any band with necessary skills such as getting the dynamics of sound and tone, finding the best beat for the song, and how to maintain the balance between rhythm and lead guitars. There will also be a practical session where Joseph will give personal tips and pointers, so participants should come prepared with their own original materials to work on.

Date: 10 Oct 2009 (Sat)
Time: 2 – 4pm
Venue: To be confirmed
Admission: Free
Register: Email the workshop title, your name, NRIC, contact number and a link to your Noise profile page to workshop@noisesingapore.com or call 6344 2953. Priority will be given to active Noise members.

Participants are required to bring their own guitars and an original song (could be partially complete) in a CD or digital format.

About Joseph Roberts
After holding down guitar duties for a plethora of local bands since the late 90's, Joseph Roberts, currently of Marchtwelve and Castles has developed an interesting approach towards rhythm guitar playing. He is currently endorsed by Gibson Guitars and was described by local scene veteran Kevin Mathews as an “inventive guitar player - a one-man fret orchestra”.

Workshop is this Saturday, don't miss this chance to improve on your playing folks (I know you're good, but there's always room for improvement)
