No show experiences?

Sheesh, yesterday I had a no-show from a buyer of my strap, waited close to an hour. We exchanged emails and msn and have agreed in our msn conversation to meet at woodlands mrt at 5pm on Tuesday...then he no show. I think its partly my fault also because I didn't ask for his contact number and I only realized it on the morning of the day we were trading itself (trading at 5pm) and so I dropped him a message with my number in his email and msn hoping that he'd get it and call me. But nothing...so I left at 6pm. Then later in the night I got an email saying:

"xxxxxxx
to me

show details 9:30 PM (10 hours ago)

err. i think i cant buy the strap. i got some problems with financial. i hope you understand. sorry for the trouble."

Geez, he could've told me earlier right??? But he only checked his mail at 930pm! I'm not in dire need of the money from the strap or anything but since the last agreement was to meet at 5pm to trade, I'd be there anyway. Sigh, so lesson learnt, always always get the buyer's number before meeting up...

topic very decieving, I thought its live performance etc.

I don't get such experiences cuz I pester the buyer/seller ALOT, if they don't want then please make it clear. Pester 1 day before, 5h before, 3h before, 1h before, so if they don't reply any, don't show up lah, no proper confirmation between us then fine, I don't go, or I hang around but not long at all. If you don't reply or whatsoever its kinda your pasa if the other party dont show up...what!

yar...sheesh but there was confirmation for the meeting time and place 2 days before already. Only thing is that I forgot to get his number =( sigh...o well, lesson learnt...

I had that once. Went down, waited an hour, then left. Message the girl at the other end, no reply.

Turns out that her phone was sent for repair and she gotten the time and date wrong. Still, was jumping mad as well. Spent an hour travelling down to Somerset, waited at Cine for abt an hour and a half, only to lug the stupid goods (Some Japanese comics) back home and tell my friend (the comics were hers) that the buyer no-showed.

GRR.

hah, for me, I lugged my gigantic pedalboard (which was over 10kg) and was prancing around woodlands mrt with a fender bad batz maru guitar strap held high, for one whole hour, hoping the dude would recognize me (the seller) by the strap. I saw the mrt auntie give me an evil eye. She must have been thinking that I was a suicide bomber with a strange fashion sense... =S

Its ok... things like this can happen.. just take it as a life experience...

But of course, all buyers and sellers should have a better sense of responsibility then to just no show

yar...sheesh but there was confirmation for the meeting time and place 2 days before already.

2 days is a long time. Many things can happen within the space of 2 hours even, so you can never be sure that things are confirmed or not.

Lesson learnt yeah? Get the number next time.

well... If you're dealing with the not so 'known' buyers... Perhaps you should insist on dealing at your place or at least at an mrt station near you, especially for big bulky items.

for me, deal at my convenience. and the person should be able to be reached through phone everytime. he/she go out, i go out. easy peesy
