NJ OPENHOUSE

rottenramone: of course I'm not spamming school logo. GOSH. that is really jingoism, to use Mero's words.

and to hifi-killer: see, another good thing about NJC. we're not affiliated to anywhere or anything. makes this unfair world a little fairer. :) people wanna complain about NJC not my business, lol. I guess they left for a reason. NJC's not for everyone, just like there's no one college that suits everyone. the people in NJC right now are a different story. affiliation is good, but so is being a college for the masses once in a while instead of elitism.

Something Random. As in the band name is Something Random, not a random something.....

woot! it really is appropriate. just watch one practice session or read one MSN convo and you'll know.
(me is the drummer btw. not very good drummer tho.)

Nerd is good. I wish I was a nerd. Then I'd score loads of As and not see Fs in my result slips lol.

here's a challenge:

if u're really that good,

1)get <4 pts for ur Os,
2)go to a sch with a cut-off point >13 like CJ,
3)get straight A1s for As,
4)bring the cut off pt to <9 by the time u leave... thats satisfaction

like wise, here's not that a challenge:

1)get <4 pts for ur Os,
2)go to a sch with a cut-off point <8
3)get straight A1s for As,
4)maintain the cut off pt to <8 by the time u leave... thats a sense of relief

i think elitism doesnt really comes from the school, it comes from the system. you go everywhere there is bound to be elitism.the way we are selected based on academic results or some amazing cca talents to enrol in the jcs, isnt that elitism? Cambridge isnt gonna allow all of you to cross the line at the same time. it will be each person for his own in the end.

If you think about it, that's meritocracy. And meritocracy may be a form of elitism, but elitism isn't always meritocracy. I cannot put down or criticise any other JCs here because I don't want to get flamed, but I can safely say that my experience in NJC so far has been that we help each other out, not having a selfish attitude like you might encounter elsewhere. up to you what you wanna think.

d'oh was that sarcastic? lol. school spirit is everywhere. JC isn't all it's cracked up to be but at the same time don't knock JC like it's useless. different folks, right?

woaw! so cool! a thread about JC!

I'm from JC too. A proud Victorian!!! All you victorians raise up your hands! lol

But yep i agree that NJ is a great school. I know of some of my high5vers from NJ and they are real great ppl, think they enjoy it over there in NJ too!

Speaking of which, VJ is full of spirit as well. I never regretted my choice for VJ! Victoria, Thy Sons are we.

If any of you are sec4s thinking about where to go from here, do consider VJ. =)

Live Breathe Victorian spirit!

haha actually no it wasn't sarcastic. just that i didn't do lots of fun stuff with my friends who went to jc because i skipped it. but it's ok because i went to uni and got lots of attention from all the girls for being the youngest one there. heehee.

man i have really bad memories from my JC days. remembered mugging in the library during lunch, being forced to drop econs.

on the bright side of things i had really nice classsmates.
