Cor,shes lovely!As compared to Tarja,who looks too "wayang" with all that make-up piled on.But the question as to if she can match the vocals,we all have to wait for the new album....

went to hear the samples...

her voice i feel not enough power.. too weak compared to music ... tarja really did set the bar high... she got overpowered by the basist's singing

My take for this is that although Anette's vocals may not be as powerful as Tarja , I feel that its time to hear the different Nightwish. Just a matter of getting used to her vocals.

Her vocals sound more childlike to me as opposed to the standard Tarja has set. But then again....Tarja has had her fame and now it's time for someone else to continue on the Nightwish legacy in a different interpretation.

What I like about Nightwish is the music composing, and I hope the new vocalist developed her own style and not try to follow blindly in Tarja's footsteps. There can only be one Tarja. Let's hope that in the future, people will say, There can only be one Anette.

Somehow I feel that the new song samples uploaded tend to gravitate towards all the albums before "Once" in that we are now seeing more obvious metal influences and of course....Tuomas's awesome epic music arrangements.

To me , although "Once" is a great album indeed but there was 50/50 balance between metal and symphonic influences. Nothing wrong about it thou but all the previous albums before "Once" had more obvious metal influences in it.

I hope that the new album has a good mix of both metal and symphonic music. I'm not expecting all the songs from the new album to be like 70% metal 30% symphonic but it would be great to hear other songs that have like 30% metal and 70% symphonic.

All in all , I'm quite confident that the new album would be a big hit in months to come if one were to judge Nightwish based on their past track records.

Remember Nightwish had to go through thousands and thousands of hopefuls to finally get to her....

First impression : Lacuna Coil/Evanesence and a lil' bit of Sirenia, well at least thats where it'll probably go.

Who knows? From that song stream I can predict that direction.
I might be mistaken.

and its tremendous dudes!!! go and get it if youre a big fan of symphonic bands....

and seriously, altho tarja is the original, but this new singer, annette sounds fantastic wif them....
i like her voice...
tarja, well sometimes sounds using falsetto, but annette is all her own voice...
