Hi guys ..a potential buyer in this equipment..just wondering whether if I could add external guitar effects through the the pedal 1,2 input..

and what is the pedal input for?
Are there midi controllers like the fcb1010 that can be connected to it?

Yes external effects can be patched to the Kontrol 3, which is also a soundcard.
I'm not sure if it can mixe in your external stomp boxes with the Kontrol 3 natively, I think you'll need a DAW for this.

There is a midi i/o, so you can patch external midi devices to it, just like a sound card with midi i/o, not sure about the mapping though.

Hope this helps, I'm still exploring my Rig, it's been alot of fun so far, specially for my records.

I haven't used the Kontrol device, but as long as it has a line/xlr input you can plug in the end of your gear chain. IMHO nobody would be selling such stuff with this kind of limitation whereby you can't feed in pre-processed signals.

Guitar Rig is a software and can be used independently. Guitar Rig Kontrol is the one with the controller. You don't need to get the controller.

I think Guitar Rig is gorgeous. My guitarists thinks otherwise tho. he still prefers the hardware I-still-want-my-pedals setup. If it was up to me, i would put 2 more laptops on stage for my guitarists.
