Hey guys u got anything can teach me? i wanna learn new stuffs...

anything to practise coordinations/sync of my picking and fretting hand?

my picking hand cant go as fast as my fretting... =/

ive tried chromatics, string skiping exercise, economy picking and many other stuffs to coordinate. well i mean i can do slow stuffs but any tips to go faster? or... realllyyyy fast? thanks in advance!

hey.. train wif a metronome.. set a slow tempo.. and play like chromatic at lets say 100.. playin 4 notes per beat. den u slowly increase day by day..
i've been usin the metronome to train.. but it can be fustratin at times.. when ur stuck.. hope it helps u.. juz practice hard.

hmm if ure talking abt 1 beat 1 note with accuracy i can do it at 208... all 6 strings that is...

got other methods?

juz play like 4 notes per beat to the metronome.. 100 will be a gd start i think.. u can play 3 notes per beat too.. can get u to train ur timing too.. speed issnt realli a very important factor.. go read more abt imrpovising.. mayb more advanced stuff like usin modes.. and juz read and read and read.. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

Hey newbie, stop practicing for a day or two.

Either just play some rhythm exercises or what not... stay AWAY from your normal soloing practice.

Then come back to it after a while and see if you have improved.

Usually you will note some improvement. It takes time for your hand muscles to get some sort of muscle memory... sometimes when you find you are not improving dispite all the effort you have put in, hours upon hours... just walk away, come back another day. ;)

ok for a while I thought you meant 16th notes at 208...that'll be fast enough for anyone.

+1 to what Daniel said.it works for me too.

try this piakcing method

hi iw ould agree with the people above who said practice with metrome..
anyway... i not sure what i means by economy picking.... but beside using strict alternative picking.... u can try this method... this is what i use i when i need to pick fast...

its similiar to alternative picking... the only difference is u follow through u picking when u jump from strings to strings...
for example... u are playing the 6th string...and the last note is a down stroke... and the next string u r gonna play is at the 5 string... so u just follow through the downstroke and pick the 5th string with a downstroke.

laslty, from my personal experience.... iwas only to pick faster when i learn my scales pattern... i find it so cause its like once u know the patterns and start improvising... u know most probably u wont hit the wrong note... so mentally u have more confidence in playing the note... so subsequently u can pick faster...
i hope this works for u..

keep on rocking
let your heart do the walking, not your fingers.

economy picking is like, when u play a chord, u do all downstrokes and when u come back down, u do all upstrokes, kind of like sweep picking...

You know... when you do economy picking, you can't do string skipping very well? ;)

I found that out the hard way... haha... couldn't do some string skipping i wanted to do because I am a legato/economy freak.

So! Take your time newbie, there's too many things to learn out there... and these things take time, don't rush it, don't sweat it. Know your limits because some people just don't cut it for shred while others just don't cut it for blues... :)

I use economy picking primarily. But I switch to alternate when I attempt PG-style string skips. Best to have both in your arsenal. Pity I'm struggling with legato.
