Newbie question on MIDIOX and KORG prophecy

HI All,
I have just started with sysex with a KORG Prophecy and is facing a host of problem with it. Thus i am hoping someone could advise me on it.

Firstly, when i connect midiox to the prophecy, and upload the sysex to the keyboard, everything seems fine. however after changing sound patch for a while, midi ox seems to hang. I will need to release the midi channel and attach it back to enable midi ox to resume sensing the midi data (key press)

Secondly, I have loaded the sysex files to the prophecy and was thinking on saving the patch to the keyboard. The keyboard allows me to save but if i were to unattached the keyboard and midiox, there will be no sound from the keyboard, hence prompting me that the patch is not save in my ROM.

The hanging in Midiox could be your midi drivers. Some midi ports don't cope with too much data. What is your midi interface? Or it could be a routing problem. Check how you have the routings setup in midiox too make sure you dont have a loop.

The second problem sounds like you need to turn on local on in the prophecy. It's in the global settings menu (press edit then global) and page buttons to find the right menu.

Thanks, I am using a M audio uno.
Do you mean the port routing? Dont think i have a loop as I am the I/O port from the prophecy to the computer straight.

I have also tried setting the GLB Setting. Maybe someone above think that I have not tried hard enough....heheh. I will try to look for the local setting.
