Hi fellow drummers,

I just started learning drums, and want to get an acoustic drumset. Few questions:

- Which brand would be good to get a standard 5-pc beginners set? Yamaha? Tama? Pearl? Any other brands available in SG?

- Which cymbals brand would be good enough for beginners? Any specific set?

- Where is the cheapest/best shop/place to get a drumset in SG?

Advice needed! Thanks in advance to all. :p

Yo! Go to Ranking Sports and check out the new look ready to play Carlos Drum set. The cymbals that comes with it cannot make it. Check out the Meinl HCS or MCS cymbal set. All should be slightly below $1000 if your budget warrants it.

Cheapest place to buy a drumkit in Singapore?

SOFT.com.sg! :D

A Carlos set should be good for a beginner to start with, from practicing to messing around with the hardware, etc. And maybe you wanna get a Paiste set from Ranking on the way, they might give you a discount too. :)

Mapex QR series is not too bad for a beginner's set.

Cymbals- U can search for 2nd hand ones in soft, some r going for not bad prices. Or u can get Istanbul Mehmet Samatya series from drumsresources. They are pretty good cymbals, price wise check with Nigel (Drumsresources)

Best place to get drums: I recommend drumsresources :P or u can try SOFT, I've seen some neat drumkits selling at good prices with decent cymbals too.
