new to guitar

it's a whammy bar.
gives you cool sounds! :D
IF IM NOT WRONG, it sustains the notes, and basically adjusts the bridge to create different sounds.

oh ic, haha thanks

was wondering for quite some time
thanks for clearing things up ^^

the most important part of choosing a guitar is actually trying them out right?
the purpose is to see how it feels? or to find out the way it sounds?

Well both. If a guitar sounds phenomenal, but you don't like playing it, no point right?

You should get a guitar which feels good to you, to make you want to play more, to keep the passion going.

find the guitar that will make u play guitar all ur life. comfort is key. u dowanna stop playing after 20mins just because u feel there's something wrong. whereas tone...can be shaped by many other things.

ic, but im new to guitar so i dont even know how to play
so how am i suppose to find the one suitable for me?

pluck a few strings, strum an open chord, see if the guitar sits comfortably on your lap and if your arms rest comfortably on it. Also check if the weight is comfy for you. If the aethestics and sounds and appearance is OK for you, then playing is the next stage to tackle :D

Agree with Ikuru, but feel only comes in the later stage of your playing. For now, I'd suggest you get a low budget electric guitar. The starter packs recommended should do well. Regarding your tuning concern, do not get a floating bridge guitar (the one with the whammy bar) at the moment. It's harder to tune and stuff, takes some experience. With that said, welcome to the world of guitar. All the best!

thanks everyone for the advice.

i think im going to start with the Timbre SR-110 Package

anyone know where is the Standard Value shop located?
but then since i dont know how to play a guitar, im afraid to go into a guitar shop, haha. scared that others will laugh at me :D

Block 2A Woodlands Centre Road #01-132, Singapore 731002.

My favourite guitar store . Or you can take bus 913 from Woodlands Regional Interchange, but there're two directions. One is going to Admiralty area, the other is going towards Marsiling. Take the one going to Marsiling, and get off at the stop next to the KTM train station (or the big carpark surrounded by short, red buildings).

If I'm not wrong its the 7th stop after the bus interchange.

Hope this helps!
