hi, im new to guitars.
i have only played once on a acoustic guitar and im very interested in getting a electric guitar

i have been looking around this forum for this past few days and came across a guitar, ibanez GRX40 , is it good? cause im afraid that the guitar will go out of tune frequently and i dont know how to tune them...haha

or is there any recommendation?
my budget is around SGD$200

best is i can get a package within $200
a portable amp, strap, bag and of course a guitar :-D

and in this forum, people have been saying that you have to try out the guitar before you buy... but the problem is this is my first time and i dont even know how to play it, so how to i try? haha

hmmm, then get an acoustic 1st. get a book, learn & watch as much instructional videos as possible
 
i havent played the ibanez GRX40 before so cant comment....but it is very easy to tune a guitar, just buy a tuner...you can learn to tune by ear later....

your budget is quite low, not sure if you can find a new package for $200....maybe you can try to source for 2nd-hand deals in the classifieds


if you have any frens who play, you can get 'em to try the guitar for you....
 
how much does a tuner cost?

it doesnt really need to be a package, GRX40 cost about $100 sgd for second hand? then all i need is a portable amp to start playing right?
im thinking of buying second hand but im afraid the guitar condition arent good and i dont know how to check... haha

sad thing is my close friends doesnt play guitars... T.T

but some of my old friends do, but i haven been in contact with them
 
A chromatic tuner can cost up to $30. First-hand packages come with tuners too, though it's a more simplified model. I find chromatic ones reliable because you can tune half step and stuff :D

some 10-15watt amp would be good. They should be small enough to be portable too.
 
ic, so it would be good for me to start learning with it?

but is there any GRX40 package around?

or maybe i could buy bits and pieces of stuff but i dont know where to find the pricing for all these items haha

im open to all suggestion but the sad thing is my budget is only about $200

u can start with acc first .. then save money for the real one ... watch some youtube video for you will learn alot from that .. or find a good friend of your to guide you with some chord progression or find a song that u really really want to learn to start first.

patience is also a an option
you can always save up and buy something better when you have the money.
i waited for almost a year before i bought myself a Washburn Idol Series WI64.
NS pay isnt much. its like MORE work LESS pay kinda thingy.
But then again i miss those days.
