New Strings Day! Wild Horse

Having tried out the 'traditionals' such as Ernies, Addarios, GHS and DRs, I began exploring alternative brands to see how different strings incorporate different feel, resistance in bending and 'touch' to my playing.

I chanced upon a brand of strings aptly named "Wild Horse" brought in by another guitar player who bought my amplifier and suggested a pack for me to try. In comparison to my regular GHS Boomers (10-46), the Wild Horse strings felt heavier and reacted to picking with a more robust response. While these strings will not give you Jeff Beck's tone nor impart the 'feel' of Clapton to your fingers, they do feel as if the string contain more metals of a higher density. My first pack lasted for 6-7 weeks without rusting and given that my palms are slightly sweaty, I do consider that as a feat!

Any other Wild Horse users out there?

You've one just here((:

Proud and satisfied user of wild horse strings! Lasted me real long before a replacement is necessary.

Kudos to it as I've slight sweaty palms as well!

Will I continue to use them? Well yea why not, they lasted longer than my previous strings and id say they sound good too! Enuff ' said, go get a pack for yourself to try it out yourself!!
For its price, I guess many should give it a go!

HEY HEY!

I use the dark horse bass nickel strings from 0.105-0.050! Sounds so bad-ass that it puts a stop to my search of strings. Besides its more economical than the other brands out there. I think I might be sticking to it for good. thumbs up.

I love these bad ass Wild Horse Strings!

Sam recommended that I try out these strings. Previously, I was using D'Addarios and the tone gets dull pretty quick. I have moderately sweaty hands so they get rusty pretty quickly too even if I clean them after playing.

I was quite skeptical at first but decided to just order 2 packs of Wild Horse 11-49's from Sam. The rest is history!

The strings were really awesome! I always described that there is a "bounce" on the strings that I love. IMO it really makes the notes jump right of the guitar. The strings feel great and sound great. They "season" very quickly and stay in tune after stretching them.

I am pretty aggressive player and these strings can handle it. I also didn't have to change them as often coz the tone lasts way longer than the D'addarios.

To date I have the following Wild Horse Gauges:
11-49's (Eb tuning)
10-42's (Eb/standard tuning)
9-56's (7-string Standard B....yes they have 7 string sets too!)
12-52's (standard B on 6 string guitar)
10-52's (currently waiting for this custom gauge to ship in)

I recommend to many of my friends and they all switched to Wild Horses after trying them out. Go try them ASAP!

I love the strings so much, I wear a Dark Horse t-shirt at gigs!
