Acid Hands Lets Talk about Strings!

I have sweaty palms that come on strong in air-con rooms so pulling through each individual string after playing is a must. It's then followed by a 2nd pull through with dr. wax oiled orange clothe or lemon oil, mainly to keep the strings slightly 'oiled'.

It's then stored in a gator hard-case then before each new playing, strings are pulled through with a dry orange cloth and tuned accordingly. A bit like cleaning your weapon in army :)

Sounds troublesome? A little. But im sure your love of guitar and music overrides all these mild inconveniences. I use Curt Mangan strings that go easy on the wallet, typically changing 1 packet per 3 weeks to 5 weeks.

I have never ever had rusty strings. I get lazy and stop wiping my strings down after a while so they don't last very long. but they NEVER rust even with condensation from the air con and low maintenance my strings never rust, just turn black and dull sounding. And this is the same with every string brand I've tried

maybe the rooms too humid? i store my guitar in a case when i'm not using it, i've also left it out on some occasions and it rusts out real fast.

^ If you already know from their website, why u ask?

Anyway, I am here to recommend the Dr Duck Ax Wax. Before I switched to Elixir, I was regularly using Ernie's and Daddario's, and Dr Duck delay the tarnishing and rusting for close to 2 weeks. When I switched to Elixir, the strings can last for about 2 months before tarnishing. For my first few sets of Elixir, I didnt use the Dr Duck because it appears to me that the Dr Duck removes the anit-rust coating on the Elixir's. After my first few sets, I decided to try the Dr Duck on the Elixir's as an experiment. After 1 cycle of experiment, I found that the Dr Duck delays the tarnishing (not the rusting yet) of the unwound strings by about 3-4 months but the coating on the wound strings appear to have been removed more quickly.

hmm anyway i'm getting Daddario EXP for my electric tmr and i'll let u guys noe how it goes.

they seem cheaper than other coated on the market at $11.50
