Use compression to bring down the sudden peaks, then increase your volume bit by bit to the level you want without peaking. I forgot - which DAW are you using.

Nice piece as usual. Adding more lower brasses will boost the epic feeling particularly for this piece's mood. I would add in lots of trombones and definitely a bass trombone. Use a bass trombone that have the blasting effect (ie played till the point of breaking the sound.

I think is too much bass. Do some high pass for double bass and drums at around 35hz or so. Or lower the bass instrument volume and around 50-100hz do boost on the bass instruments to push the character of each bass instrument out.

Hi all, thanks for all the tips. I checked them out and used a couple of the suggestions as best I could e.g the high pass thing. There's probably a slight improvement (i hope!) which isn't very discernible though.

Anyway, I'll keep the tips in mind for future projects for sure.
