just a suggestion, but you might wanna get a cheaper decent guitar and invest into a decent amp. No offense to anyone owning an SX amp, but a Gibson les paul custom still sounds like nuts through an SX amp (assuming you bought the starter pack).

After all, the amp makes the largest part of the tone. Just my 2 cents.

I think you should try out different type of guitars... You shouldn't dismiss any brand, you also should not dismiss any type of guitars. Holding an LP doesn't mean you are an LP wannabe, that's pure nonsense.

Yamaha, PRS, Epiphone, Cort.. do make good guitars.. and bad ones too. Go down and hands on yourself, if not bring a guitarist friend down with you to try it.
