Need help on Tremolo System....

Currently owning a Jem jr. Thought of Modding the Guitar..Like the Pick ups , Tremolo system..etc. First, I'll go for the Tremolo system,but not sure which one to get...

Recommendation of any model or series....? And which shop should i got to...? Blah...blah...blah...

The TRS Tremolo on those supposedly suck big time .. I heard the fender ori floyd rose fits into the cavity ... you might wanna change to that ...

Any specific model that i can get...? I heard theres much on the market, like the Low pro,Edge pro....etc .so which one should i get.Any much diff between them...?

An OFR is a direct retrofit, but they cost a bomb. If you did a search on the forum, you'd find that the Gotoh trem's a much cheaper alternative which is as good.

Low pro, edge pro, aren't direct retrofits, so you're gonna have to cut up the guitar to put them in. Plus if you are ordering them online brand new, chances are you might be looking at a $500 minimum base cost just to put the bridge in. Definitely NOT cost effective.

p.s You might want to PM tany as well. He has a jem jr which was modded..

detroit, the Jem Jr has a ILT1 trem, not a trs. Unfortunately, tts worse than a TRS. Also, there is no Fender Original Floyd Rose... its just Original FR.

Tany managed to fit a Gotoh licensed Floyd Rose into the ILT1 cavity and it has full range of motion. A Gotoh Licensed FR is one of the best Licensed FRs around, great quality, even better than the original FR. Check out places like internet music supply or www,universaljems.com to order a Gotoh FR, around $250 SGD with shipping.

If the Gotoh FR can fit, you can most prob use Schaller Licensed FR and Original FRs too... however, the Gotoh is the one with the best make/QC.

I am not sure if the legendary Ibanez Edge/Lo Pro will fit into the cavity. Even the Edge Pro too. Anyway, a brand new Ibanez Edge costs $275USD. So yeah.

Your best bet is to get a Gotoh, bang for buck and best quality, plus most likely to retrofit without routing.
