hi everyone i`m kinda new to this forum and i love singing =) i have a wide vocal range and would like to share my songs with everyone.. can someone teach me on how to record songs sang by me into the computer? and upload songs to you tube?

u doing with instruments? or just mic alone?

recommended:
if with instrument like guitar or keyboards, get presonus firebox($450+) and a decent mic($80-$120).

not so recommended:
if just mic..then maybe u can try "jam lab"($50) at sinemax.. its for guitar actually..but can do mic also.. but quality wise i not sure.. u can always ask the nice uncle there.. damn nice guy.

Hi. Welcome to soft. You might wanna post your question at the "How-To Sound ".

Anyway, if you are recording your voice alone and is not particular about quality, a cheap karaoke style mic would be good enough. Make sure it has a mini plug 1/8 inch adaptor that you can connect to the mic input of your computer.

After that, you can just record using your Window's sound recorder.

It gets more complicated if you want your recording to be.. well, more complicated. So posting at the "How-To Sound" section would be a better bet. Lots of people who know more about this kinda of stuff can help you there :)

if u just wanna record your own voice then u can just follow THOA's way
but if u wanna like..record your voice together with a song's playback.. like u fit your voice into the song that the vocals had been removed then u might wanna do the more complicated way lah..
if not i think those $10 msn chat mics are good enough..haha..

Hmm due to budget restraints, I do most of my recording using M-Audio's Fast-Track (USB) and a Shure SM58 mic. Of course for better quality get the Firewire version of the Fast track (but more expensive).

The fast-track has a guitar/line in input and a XLR input for the mic. Pretty decent results for the price. Got the USB for around $130 - $150 if i remember correctly.

It also come with some recording software which i can't really rate cause I don't use it. I use Garageband on the Mac.

Hope this helps. Cheers and happy recording.

thanks alot guys.. i now have a mic.. but if i wanna record my voice with a backgrown of a original song .. is it possible?.. its like playing the same original song with my voice instead of the singer =)

[Stereo Track] Minus one (song without singing, only background music).wav
[Recording Track] your vocals.

yes it's possible.

but you need to find the minus one. "vocal remover" softwares will end up removing the snare or whatever's in the middle etc.

U can either find the karaoke track online ( cheap but sound cheesy and midi )....hopefully or rip it off from those karaoke cds...

or pay someone to compose the Minus one track for u( what i see done by SAF MDC )....( not cheap )
