need advise - overseas purchase

I plan to purchase a Squier '51 from ebay; however only one guy is willing to ship it in to singapore.

Total cough up would be 300 USD - am I making a rash decision?

Don't think there will be any hidden cost. You will have to pay GST when you bring it in though because the total amount will be more than S$400.

Do confirm with him the final grand total price..use paypal currency converter to convert into sing and see if it meets ur budget..other than that, I think its alright to go ahead with the deal

since the total amount (shipping included) will be more than S$400, you'll get hit with GST at Customs. Depending on which is the shipping company, you may either have to go to the Post Office and pick it up and pay the duties, or some shippers eg FedEx will deliver to your door and pay the GST on your behalf, then bill you later with a small service fee.

buy low end guitar from oversea, the shipping cost is around 40-50% of the guitar itself.
