Nano or Zen

A few more days till I decide on either one and I'm still having a rough time trying to come to a decision on whether I should get a Nano or Zen.

Since both parties have had their fair share of ups and dows for instance some of you may think Ipods are crap and Zen are much better while some of you might think of the direct opposite...

Anybody care to share their IPOD or Zen experiences? Good or bad it doesn't matter though....

apple is trying to take over the world.

but i hear the nano screen is pretty small right? or something. haha. do they sell irivers in singapore?

The Nano photo viewer and colour LCD screen just looks so seductive although I consider it to be an unnecessary feature...but I feel so tempted just by looking at it

woo.. i'm loving my zen mirco photo... i love the colour screen.. although half of the time it's in my bag. the navigation is not bad too.

alot of my friens have nano... They advice me to wait for the next batch if u want it. Cuz the first batch got abit of technical problem.

How much did you get it for? But too bad it only comes with 8GB cause my budget is maximum $350 and I guess there's where the Nano comes in.

get a nano...i got a 4GB zen micro..and its good but i believe nano is much more better....my friend got a 5GB n got a lot of problem....the sound system 4 example...but wad i heard is that 4 an Ipod, the battries capacity get weaker every time u charge it....

ipods have to work with itunes, and are not simple plug and play. and if you load your songs from your itunes and you go to your friend's house itunes. you'll get your files wiped. it happened for my friend's ipod mini and my shuffle. im sure i'll happen with the nano too.

abt the files getting swapped or "updated" by iTunes on a different pc/mac, i think the iPod is set to "Automatically update all songs and playlist". what u have to do is set the iPod to "Manually manage songs and playlist". how to do that: plug in ur iPod. in iTunes, click iPod tab. then click the Music tab. choose the "Manually manage..." bubble. then click ok! that's it. u should not have any problm after that!

i've had my iPod 4generation 40G for abt 1.5yrs now. no problm so far. the batt last for 8-10hrs on a single charge, and its ben more or less consistent. newer ones might be longer... i have 9064 songs in it and i'm left with 300+mb of memory only. (time to get the 60G one i think!) its been good to me so far... and i'm happy with it. abt the new ones with video capability, i dun find a need for it. but i understand it comes standard with all the newer higher memory iPods. anw, Apple is not marketing it as the main thing for the iPod, its the music capabilities that is the main draw.

abt Creative, i have not had a chance of using it. so i won't comment.

yep same thing happen to my shuffle when i reformatted my com.. it's a pain in the ass.. but then the quality is there and i dun nid to charge much.. the nano is too sexy to resist anyway..

what i heard from my lecturer is that creative mass produces and defects are usually quite alot.. like some1 said on this forum somewhere creative usually juz exchage 1 to 1 if there's any problem..

get a creative zen nano! lol... anw.. im for creative. apple sells overpriced, underperforming stuff. and creative has proven better audio quality, (unless you're getting the shuffle which i doubt). some dood did a test but i can remember e webby..

I just ordered an iPod Video

IMO, Creative products are not reliable, and this comes from a person who has been using creative mp3 players for 4 years. I stopped counting the number of times I had to go to their HQ to get my mp3 player repaired, and every single time they just gave me a refurbished set which had the same hardware failure after a couple of months.

You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. I'd rather buy an apple for the better aftermarket options and customer service then get another cheap Creative that will spoil in a few months time
