name a rock and roll song

LOL.
to Vaiyen: really? okay. was wondering why theblueark asked you if you were tearing your hair out. I thought my questions were really silly.

nah, I'm no authority on classification, so how could I deem others as silly. And I think theblueark was just being cheeky la. :)

oh dear. never mind. i shall keep quiet after this, lest I betray the poppish mainstream tastes of my generation. :P

yep... i think rock is more moody anger stuff and is usually associated with minor scales but rock n roll is cheerry and happening and usually major scales...
oui no 1 read what i say ah...

just realised... minor is also used for rock n roll... and some rock n roll really do eat into rock... kinda over lap a bit... but u know those hard rock and stuff, they're rock alright...

i guess the content counts too... if its bout frustration, violence, sex and negative stuff, its most probably rock...

if its lighter stuff, it may be rock n roll... or may be rock...

if its positive stuff, then its most probably rock n roll

Correction: Layla was by Derek and the Dominos

I wouldn't really consider what you've listed as rock & roll, to be precise though. They are rock nonetheless.

Perhaps a distinction we need to draw here is that rock & roll is a subset of rock, not the other, and rock & roll songs are not necessarily rock anthems.

Cheers.

Let There Be Rock by ACDC is stuck in my head...

"Let there be light! Sound! Drums! and Guitar!
Oh, let there be rock!"

AC/DC is not rock and roll. Rock and roll is not the same as a rock anthem. They are not mutually exclusive though. Check out Chuck Berry's School Day.

rock and roll guitar solos usually have alot of doubling? i dont know, most rock and roll songs i hear have doubling...
