As for Rock and Roll in the traditional sense, this isn't a 'define the genre' thread, now, is it? I believe the intention appears to have been simply a chance for everyone to share their favourite songs, and chat a little, not slam the generation of today.
and old farts generally don't claim to know the younger generation enough to generalise about them.
