My pedal LED is weak!

Hi I recently bought an Ibanez TS-9 from a fellow softie. The pedal is working perfectly but the LED seems weak compared to my other pedals. It's not a battery problem because I'm running it on 9v adaptor.

So my questions are:

1) Is there some place I can bring it to mod the LED to a brighter colour? If so, how much does it cost?
2) Is it possible to brighten it up/mod the LED myself in a simple way cause I don't wanna risk spoiling the pedal since I know nuts about technical stuff like this

Thanks!

You can change it yourself if you know how to solder. If not I'm sure you can find someone here on the forum to help you with it cheaper than taking it to a shop.

Oh damn I don't know how to solder. How much would it cost if I bring it to a shop?

not too sure, but should be quite cheap la, maybe charge $5 for a LED soldering job? haha but different colour/ birghtness LEDs do affect tone slightly.

the led path for indicating effect on/off purpose should not interfere with the audio signal path as both are usually wired on separate points to the footswitch without crossing each others path.

If using led for clipping diode purpose in the circuit, it will have effect on the sound signal

For effect on/off indicator purpose, if the led path some what cross over to the signal path, there will prolly be clicking sound being heard through the amplification as the led light goes on and off/changing state.

anyway, changing to a brighter colour is much possible, just ask for ultra bright led. For prices, refer to individual tech for prices.

Diy is easy if able to desoldering/soldering and basic electronic knowledge on led and tracing the circuit. Hehe, but before that, knowing how to open up the pedal, flipped over the circuit board etc prolly be more useful.

Imho, save the hassle and bring to the fellas in the biz, pay some money and have them settle it. Much easier and less worries, especially if never done something similar.

I like pedal with this configuration..always nice to see "dancing LED" lol, if I diy, I will normally mount these clipping LED outside :D

Yeah if it doesnt cost much like below 10 bucks i'll bring it to someone to do it for me, if not i'll just have to live with it
