my friend says bass is useless, how to explain?

Personally, i feel that EVERY instrument plays a part..

Bass is NOT useless! It gives the song that extra "umph" feeling....without it, the song will just not sound the same..

I think we should refrain from flogging a dead horse and contribute to a thread that seems to be grounded on obviously dysfunctional grounds. Let this thread die and any memory of the TS's friend's childish ignorance!
