That will require re-routing..
Plus cutting a bigger hole in your guitar..
It's gonna be way way above your budget..
Might as well settle for a tele with hums!

good luck with your first guitar man!!:D

i'm new too and i got a jem jr.. but the pick-ups for it is not that strong.. hmmmm....

anyway wat i heard from friend is that different types of songs u r intrested in playing shd use wat kind of guitar... like ibaneze is more into universal.. if u wanna play like MCR is gibson because of the strong pick up... bla bla bla.. thats wat my friend tot me..=) any yeah.. good luck once again..
:D

Please be noted, your amp and effects also form part of the equation in your tonality..
If you want to play MCR, you dont need a gibson.. Even if it is a gibson, les paul, sg, explorer? etc etc..
I dont think most bands who cover iron maiden uses strats right?
Of course, no one in the right mind would use an ibanez xiphos for coldplay right?
And one more thing, it is never the brand; never! You can't say a fender can't play santana..
You got to take into account the wood used, the pickups (single/hum), the amp, the effects, and most importantly - the fingers!

get a guitar and make your own sound.you can never get the exact sound of your idol.well maybe close enough but making your own sound is best.

hey guys, went ard and tested a couple of teles
squier fat tele
squier california series
timbre
squier tele custom II

timbre and california series sounds fine...
any idea where to try the squier telecaster custom? the dual humbucking tele
i cant find it at sweelee.

A tele is supposed to be crisp and twangy while a les paul creamy and smooth..
I don't see the common point, but hell, in this world you'll never know eh?

never tried a tele custom so i assume its between a les paul and standard tele due to the humbuckers.

tried the custom before (with duncan designed p90 instead). they do have the feel of les paul, and tried a bit of metal riffs with it. but its neck is bolt on, and very pricey for a squier (800+)

i like the bridge pickup, when driven. lotsa 'bite' i feel..quite tempted to get the timbre, since it's quite cheap... but gonna decide after i tried the Tele Custom.

my take on the Tele Custom- yes, it sounds thicker than the average Tele but nothing in the Les Paul territory...

i don't like squiers, they are really cheap in material and quality as well. If you really desperately want that body shape then I have no comments, but i think a strat copy will be a good first guitar thats very versatile.

I think the best strat copy there is is made by Fernandes, retrorocket X, comes with SSS or HSS combinations - Yamaha at Plaza Sing stocks them, last I saw its about $330 but you get 10% if you sign up as a member which is free. (or was it 5%?)

I tried it before, it produces the sound of a standard fender strat (i mean entry level fenders) definitely better than a Squire. AFter all Fernandes gets sued by everyone for copying really good guitars.

Unlike Squire or Craftsmen or others I think Fernandes stuff can get u thru beginner - intermediate level

Amp wise Roland Cube would solve most of your needs, or a cheapo spaekers and a good Multi-fx can get you a long way too.
