hi folks, i gave the friendly SA officer a call in the morning, and he said you'll need >30 people to form a cca. he feels that it is not a bad idea, just that he hopes that the activity can last, and not fizzle out after the initial fire has died down, which according to him, has happened before. I think a lot depends on how you guys plan to organize the events, and have things like monthly gigs, be it on campus or outside, jamming sessions, competitions, exchange programmes with other schools, workshops, etc etc... I used to be with the EML (electronic music lab) in NUS, and in those days, we would come into the studio every week, sometimes a few days each week, just to hangout and wack the synths and samplers. Of course, we also have weekly training sessions on some sequencer softwares and sound synthesis. All this makes for some interesting things to do, and of course, make new friends! Which is why I am taking the time to help you guys out to make this happen. The rest is up to you! Like I said, you guys go ahead and meet up, thrash out some of the things that you would like to do in the cca, have a plan to make sure the SA is convinced that this cca thing is not a hot air thingy, which goes away when the cold wind blows...heehehe....

I wana list who can come down so i'll try to contact those who are confirmed and prefererably u too. I don't know a single thing about setting up a CCA in NYP cause i'm just in year 1 but i sure do know pretty much about the music industry in S'pore.

Anyway, I would think the meeting is just a preliminary meeting to give you guys to know one another, whether or not the cca kicks off. I suppose we can also talk about what are the things you all would want or hope to get from this cca.
