Multieffects

Nicky: bro pathein bro, magic stomp sounds interesting for experimental stuff, have you used it on any of your demos?

so far still trying to tweak and come up with different patches, havent really combined with the rest yet.

The delay and reverb patches in it are worth the price. Extremely tweakable and beyond most individual pedals. Tweakers delight i say

I found these prices on luthermusic.

Korg ax1500g = $299
Korg ax3000g = $450
Line6 Pod Xt live = $638

Standard Value
Boss ME50 = $455

and i think Music Theme, the shop beside davis, is selling gt8 at 770. cant remember but i think so.

i saw in indonesiah guitar forum that pod xt live is kinda bad.. they say it doesnt produce good distortion fx and most of them regret after buying it..

is this product that bad??

Dude, XT Live being bad is so so wrong! Its excellent for all types of music and its very tweakable too, jus short of the GT8. But in case u dun know, most Indonesians use the AX3000G(over 75% of Indonesian guitarists use it or its cousin, the AX1500G). Could it be for this reason? Not to sound racist here, not my point at all! Its jus an observation i made frm trawling thru many forums all over the world-from the comfort of home! Is this reason plausible? U decide. Bsck to the XT Live, the retail price is $638 but if u order frm luther can get it around maybe $600 if ur lucky. Or wait for yr end sales frm citymusic. I got mine last yr for $545. Only gripe is the hi-gain stuff isn't fantastic, even the metal shop model packs aren't that great. U want metal tones only out of it, 4get the XT Live. Get an analog rig. If not, its great for all round music-making.

Multi-efx units are generally considered digital bcos the sounds are recorded digitally into the hard drive. This results in a less refined sound and makes it sound less colourful, for the lack of a better word. Analog pedals however, modify the sound by passing it through a series of transistors and electronic what-nots and the result is a more refined, tweakable and 'better' sound. The best multi-efx wld be one that can capture the exact sound of the analog pedal it is 'impersonating'. Bottom line is, both use different ways to modify the signal and this results in different kinds of tones. If u wanna buy a multi-efx, go 4 a higher-end one that sounds almost like the real deal(GT8, XT Live comes to mind). If not, get an analog rig(analog pedals). Simple.

Too many people dismiss digital multiefx as sterile sounding when plugged into guitar amps. What they do not know is that multiefx are meant to be plugged into flat response speakers to get the best out of them. That's like plugging a good bass into a guitar amp and then dissing it to be lousy sounding otherwise.

Btw, not all multi effects are digital. Some are analog depending on how deep your pockets can stretch.

most of those who regreted buying xt live say the distortion isnt great (sorry but im noob at guitar things and i dont know what the technical name of it in english)
but i think ill try this effx, im interested with the usb recording feature.. hehe do u know how much is the second hand one normally priced?

anyway r u sure 75% indonesian guitarists use korg? in a indonesian guitar forums the have subforums for boss, line 6, digitech, etc, but no korg..so i tot korg isnt quite popular in indonesia
