Think of them as Pizza. One pizza is hawaiian, the other has pepperoni, the other is seafood, Etc.

LOL! conclusion: cows eat piazza!! hahaah sry juz cant help laughing at such an analogy..

For 200 bucks range get a zoom multi fx. The 707. Or anything lesser. For a beginner, u need to know the different types of effects the world has to offer. Then when u become more serious abt ur music n ur demand is much higher u can invest in multiple individual stompboxes.

Or do what I did, borrow a multi-fx from a friend  U know who u r...

stomp boxes are expensive. and very heavy.
but they sound great... if you play well even better.

nothing sounds better then a tube amp with analog pedals , cranked up loud in a big hall. period.

but at home... direct recording etc... multi effects work well too..

im using a vox tonelab now.. its nice... though im only using like ...4% of what it does... but its gd enuf for me.

i wanna get individuals but i'm afraid they will sound crap on my 10 watt amp (i own a samick ss10 practice amp)
i cant get any bigger amp cuz i live in hdb and i have neighbours that complain bout the slightest noise i make! lol
i heard the behringer x-v amp and zoom g2 (or g2.1u) arent bad..would they sound bad on my amp?

.

my additional 2 cents worth - individual effects aer costlier coz well...U gotta buy them individually...multi effects are value for $ as you get alot in one...for example my BOSS (I luv bBoss over all the rest & I've tried them all) ME30 has got 6 diff distortions from blues-heavy metal-60s fuzz etc, chorus, flanger, digital delay, reverb, pitch shifter, compressor, limiter, etc and the footpedal can be used as wah (2 types), volume pedalor ring modulator. Also built in is a tuner, phase trainer (to ec & playback song passages) and amp simulator....All either in manual or programable mode...The newer ones like ME5o even have the AC2 accoustic simulator built in...

They will take a while to learn & master but then when you're set...your there

@nd hand ones can be gotten from $180-200+ depending on condition.
