Hi there, this post goes out to all who have tried any Monte Allum mods, distortion in particular.

How do you like his mods? Is there a noticable difference after the mods(in a good way)? I am talking mainly about his distortion pedal mods.
Are you satisfied with them? Could you give a short review, including what(music) you use it for?

I'm seriously thinking of getting the DS-1/DS-1 Rectifier Mod! Anyone who has one of these please voice out!

Also, since I can't order onine(no credit account lah), I'm looking for someone who could help me order!
Anyone kind enough to help, or anyone thinking of ordering, please PM me!

There's a "buy 3 get 1 free" promotion going on for november..

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! :smt001

EDIT: whoops. this isn't the Edit button! sory..

If this thread was a week older I would have helped you.. I ordered 2 mod kits and couldn't find any reason and budget to get another 1 to make use of the november offer.

Got myself the sd-1 & ds-1 kit...ordered the mt-2 kit 2-3 weeks ago but still not here yet. Wonder how long it takes to ship.

ive done the mod on a MT2 nong nong time back

and i was very very pleased with the results

tighter sound with really noticable decrease in the noisiness... the EQ also becomes more versatile (knobs)

its worth the 50 bucks investment :)

i tried Monte DS-1 mod not impressed by the results at all, it is just more metallic sounding with no punch. Try a mike mod instead, the way distortion should sound.

Oh dude, i second that. That is one EXCELLENT mod to make a DS1 have some great standalone dirt tones!

But its noisy... bad for stacking.

I believe the rhythm guitarist of Ronin has my old analogman DS1.

did you try it before? cause i own one ds-1 live and it is not noisy at all. the tone just jump out from the amp.

Yes, I did have one before.

its noisy, try stacking it, its really noisy. Comparing to a using a stock DS1 to stack.

On its own, the noise level is fine.

Thanks namle for your MT review!

Jazzit_man, which mod did you try? The normal DS-1 mod, or the DS-1 rectifier mod?

So you're saying monte's mod is not punchy enough,
and Mike's mod is good, just that not suitable for stacking yeah?
